We have explained some common binding types below.
Saddle stitch books
Saddle stitch binding is the most economical print format and is ideal for children’s books and booklets. The print pages are folded over in a magazine-like spread and stapled at the spine to ensure the pages remain securely fastened together. Page range: 4–68 printed pages.
Perfect bound books
Perfect binding is widely used for soft cover books of all genres. This is the method you may be most familiar with. The pages are printed as two-sided sheets, cut down to the trim size, and then the spine of the block is glued to the cover sheet with a strong yet flexible thermal glue. The sides of the book are then trimmed, giving them clean ‘perfect’ edges, which is where the term comes from.
Hardcover (casebound) books
Referred to as hardcover, hardback, hardbound, or casebound books. This binding type includes a rigid protective cover typically made of cardboard covered with heavy paper, buckram or other cloth, or leather. Hardcover books have heavier and more rigid covers than your standard book types. This means hardcover books have more durability and remain in better condition for a longer period. Readers also prefer hardcover books due to the improved visual appeal and, in some cases, sentimental value.
Hardcover books are used for a large range of purposes and are common in a lot of different genres, such as collector’s editions, family history books, celebratory books, cookbooks, children’s books and any instance where books need to emphasize quality, longevity and have great visual appeal.

Wonderful, wonderful Inhouse Publishing has so far produced two of my books, working round the clock at the last minute to make it all happen on time, as at this pre-arranged launch at Queensland Terrace in 2019. Extraordinary capable and generous, we are lucky to have them here in Queensland.

I engaged in-house publishing to deliver my second book the little book of Human. From the first conversation to the delivery of the product I was incredibly impressed with the care that the entire team showed towards me and in particular their willingness to understand the human behind the book. The way the process moved seamlessly from one department to the next tells me that this is a team who cares for each other, and in turn this is felt by me the customer. With book three now into concept stage I know I’ll be giving in-house publishing a call once the manuscript is done. You won’t go wrong if you engage them.

As a published author of 11 books with International and Australian publishers, I turned to In-House to get a specialist subject book produced I
could not get any agency interested in. I was so happy with the results and their professionalism I have since published 3 more books with them and will do so again. I recommend anyone who has a story they want to tell to seek some advice from In- House Publishing.

Working with this team, you know you are in safe hands. They are friendly, timely, skilled and most importantly they listen. It was wonderful to collaborate with them to bring this book to life.
