Our Background
In 1997, Bob and Diane Karlsson began a commercial printing business under their family home, with 30 years of experience in the industry, modest print machinery, and a strong desire to deliver exceptional customer service. They went on to name the company ‘InHouse Print & Design’ as a nod to their humble beginning.
Clients enjoyed the caring family nature of the business and being greeted by Caramel, the company’s late poodle. InHouse grew over many years and welcomed new team members, improved machinery, and an expanding client base. Soon the business moved out from under the house and into a large commercial building.
Working with Authors
From time to time, local authors would request a small print run of their books. Although the projects were often small and infrequent, the team found a great deal of satisfaction in producing these inspiring stories. Bob and Diane loved chatting to the authors, and found them to be such interesting, caring and courageous people. The seed was planted.
As their connections with authors continued, Bob and Diane felt they wanted to do more than simply print the books. If they could offer book editing, cover design, and internal formatting, they could help create an impressive final product for their favourite clients. To bring their vision to life they would have to take a big leap. Finally, in 2016, a new expansion was added to the business – InHouse Publishing. New team members joined the InHouse family who were qualified and experienced in the publishing industry and shared Bob and Diane’s passion and values. InHouse could now offer the entire publishing process, from book set-up right through to distribution and marketing.
As of 2020 InHouse Publishing has assisted thousands of authors to bring their stories to life, and we continue to grow in this rapidly evolving industry.
A lot has changed since Bob and Diane first started the business. We now have Jac the poodle who greets all our print and publishing clients, a large team of printers, editors, and designers, and a factory full of advanced machinery. But what is most important to us has stayed the same. We are still family owned by Bob and Dianne Karlsson. We continue to develop long-term relationships with our clients built on trust and reliability. We still aim to provide a level of customer service and caring that goes above and beyond. And our passion for helping authors share their inspiring stories is stronger than ever.
