About Me
The most important part of my life, and the thing I hold nearest and dearest
to my heart, is my cat, Doody. He’s a little, fluffy, orange cutie and a source of
endless happiness. The other most important part of my life is my life partner/
better half/best friend/general fix-it man/live-in IT professional, Steve. I live
with my little family in Brisbane.
I inherited my love for books from my mum. When I was a child, she spent
endless amounts of time reading to me. As I grew up, our home was always
stocked with books of every genre, all for my intellectual consumption.
While I am deeply in love with delicately-crafted metaphors and thoughtful
plot construction, I am equally impressed by a well-told story, anecdote, or
joke.
About Work
As an editor and client manager at InHouse Publishing, I assist our authors
through vital steps of their publishing journey. My responsibilities include
appraising and editing manuscripts, as well as organising book formatting,
illustrations, cover design, printing, and post-publishing processes, all to
industry standard.
While my formal training as an editor dictates brutal dedication to the rules
of language, the reader in me appreciates each author’s unique voice and
writing style. I enjoy getting to know our authors through their work, whether
it is a fiction or nonfiction book.
